Beaches and coves

Along the bay of Cadaqués and the nature reserve of Cap de Creus, there are  some  beaches and coves. Most of them are still genuine and wild with pure transparent waters.

They are as follows:

Ses Ielles Beach: Rocks, difficult access.

Sant Lluís Beach: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good.

Ses Noues Beach: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good.

Es Jonquet Beach: access on foot. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good.

S’Alqueria Gran beach: access on foot. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good: Deep. Parking area.

S’Alqueria petita beach: easy access. Pebbles and coarse sand. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow. Parking area.

Sant Antoni beach: easy access. Pebbles and coarse sand. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow.

Portlligat beach: easy access. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good. Shallow. Bar, restaurant, kayaks and parking area.

Portlligat island beach: access by sea. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: very good. Quite shallow.

Es Calders beach: access on foot. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good

Es Caials beach: access on foot easy. Pebbles. Quality of water: good

Confitera beach: easy access. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good. Hardly deep.

S’Aranella beach: easy access. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: very good. Hardly deep. Parking area.

Perefet beach: easy access on foot and by sea. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good.

Del Ros beach: easy access. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow. Shower. Car park.

Ses Oliveres beach: easy access. Pebbles. Quality of water: good. Bars. Quite shallow. Parking area.

Es Pianc Beach: easy access, on foot. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: good.

Es Poal Beach: easy access, on foot. Pebbles and sand. Quality of water: regular.

Gran beach: easy access. Pebbles and coarse sand. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow. Showers, kayak, windsurf and sailing. Bars and restaurants.

Port Doguer or Port Alguer beach : easy access. Sand beach. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow. Bars.

Llané beach: easy access. Pebbles and coarse sand. Quality of water: good. Deep. Shower. Parking area.

Es Sortell beach: access on foot: medium difficulty. Pebbles. Quality of water: very good.

Sa Conca beach: easy access. Pebbles. Quality of water: very good. Deep.  Bar, restaurant. Parking area.

Sant Pius V beach: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good.

Sa Sabolla beach: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good: Deep.

Sa Figuera beach: access by sea. Pebbles . Quality of water: very good. Quite deep.

Portaló cove: access by sea. Pebbles . Quality of water: very good. Quite deep.

Agulles cove: access by sea (difficult) . Rocks.

Culip cove: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: good. Quite shallow.

Fredosa cove: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good. Quite shallow.

Jugadora cove: access on foot and by sea. Shingle beach. Quality of water: very good. Quite shallow.

Francarlos cove: access by sea. Rocks. Quality of water: very good.

Culleró cove: access by sea. Rocks. Quality of water: very good.

Bona cove: access on foot (difficult) and by sea. Pebbles. Quality of water: very good.

Seca cove: access on foot (difficult) and by sea. Pebbles. Quality of water: very good.

Torta cove: access by sea (small boats). Pebbles. Quality of water: very good.

Guillota beach: access on foot and by sea. Pebbles and coarse sand. Quality of water: very good. Quite shallow.

 

Some rules to bear in mind:

•    Although nudist beaches are unofficial, people practise nudism in the beaches and coves which are away from the bay, especially in Cap de Creus.
•    According to the new regulations, dogs are forbidden in beaches.

Adapted beaches for physically disabled and wheelchair bound

Portdoguer beach is the only totally adapted beach for physically disabled and wheelchair bound as it has a wooden gangway and an amphibian wheelchair, which enables access to the sea from the promenade.
